oh, let's see...my main goal is to do more often intentional shots with models/actors/etc. Forcing myself to think of the small details and to put more meaning in them. Am I overthinking it? :)
And secondly to work more on my personal project on photography and get out of my comfort zone.
My new year’s creative resolution is to shoot often, experiment like crazy and make mistakes all while researching photography in books and galleries. Happy new year and resolutions
A goal is to continue regrowing my love for photography and pushing myself to go back out in the chaos of the city to make environmental portraits again.
I have a handful of photos that were shot during a rather difficult time for me. On their own, I never thought they had anything to do with this particular struggle. However, after spending much of this past year diving deeper into the work of other photographers and reflecting on why I even make photos (what they mean, in general and personally) I have realized that they do have a deeper meaning and that I want to publish these images in something between a zine and a proper photobook. So, that will be happening in 2023.
Also, shoot more, reflect more, and study more photography!
Learning how to use a flash is one of my goals this coming year. I just bought my first flash this past weekend and am excited to learn more. I also want to explore black and white filters. I’ve never really used them (minus a few trichromes) and want to see how they change my landscape photographs.
2023 is shaping up to be a big year my partner and I's project. We have our first gallery exhibition together this spring, and will be publishing a book as well.
I also want to keep improving how we share the work digitally which can be hard. Large format portraits aren't really meant for a Small screen.
Beyond that it's just moving forward and getting better at what we do on the technical side.

super cool project Adam, excited to follow along and see what you figure out for digital sharing.
Thanks! Thinking and hoping that substack will be a good place for it.
Cheers
Two main goals for me in 2023.
To really dive into my personal project on grief
To connect with more creatives, potentially have a mentor and assist others :)
Happy holidays Wesley, hope you have a good Christmas and New Year
