Georgia (the country) has ancient stone towers, dramatic mountain passes, and soulful, untouched villages that feel like stepping back in time. I’d focus on capturing the medieval watchtowers of Svaneti at sunrise, shepherds leading flocks across rugged trails, colorful doors and weathered facades in old Tbilisi, and the sweeping views of the Caucasus Mountains wrapped in mist.
I'd go back to the city i did my uni exchange at! (It's actually in the netherlands, zwolle). I was already into photography back then but i didn't know as much and i would love to go back once again with what i know now and photograph places that were important to me under this new lense of experience + time that has gone by since i lived there. The Netherlands was such a welcoming country!
As someone living in Asia, I definitely want to shoot in Amsterdam! I've always been fascinated by the city's beautiful canals, historic architecture, and vibrant street life. I also look forward to experiencing a different atmosphere compared to the bustling megacities of Asia.
I’ve always wanted to go to Havana to photograph the people, the old cars and the architecture. Also, as there’s no time difference between Toronto and Havana, jet lag wouldn’t be an issue, a major consideration if only going for a week.
I've heard there is a very special energy in the air there, though also that the people are maybe a bit fed up with being extras for a photo shoot, if you will. But I'm sure with respect and patience it could work.
I would love to go back to Bangkok to see my old hometown in quite literally (but also figuratively) a new lens. So many things I would look at differently in comparison to when I still lived there as there are so many things I can enjoy in the city
for me it will be japan (on my bucket list anyway) but not the busy streets of tokyo; instead will be the small remote villages (fishing or rice growers) where tradition is kept for hundreds of years. why? the japanesse culture and tradition amaze me.
I have a virtually free ticket that I'm using for a week in Copenhagen in June. There are other fantastical adventures I'd love to use as my answer, but I'll be there for 3 Days of Design and will be jumpstarting a documentary project so it's a good start.
I would go to Thailand. Thailand has stolen my heart with its culture, food, people, landscape! From Chiang Mai to Bangkok, I would love to capture the streets filled with vendors, good food, and conversation.
If you could get a free plane ticket anywhere in the world to go make photographs for a week it would be Italy. I chose Italy because I love the architecture in the buildings and the history of various cities in the country as well as the lush landscapes of Tuscany and the mountainous regions of the Dolomite that I always see in photos and would like to experience and photograph in person.
Scotland would be the dream destination: misty highlands, crumbling castles, and dramatic coastlines offer an atmospheric palette that feels timeless and deeply evocative through the lens.
Really hard to choose. I would head to Morocco to photograph the vibrant colors of the souks, the winding alleys of ancient medinas, and the golden dunes of the Sahara at sunrise. There's so much texture, light, and life packed into every scene.
If I could get a free plane ticket anywhere to make photographs for a week, I’d choose Iceland.
The landscapes there are like nowhere else — glaciers, black sand beaches, towering waterfalls, volcanic fields, and the possibility of catching the northern lights all in one trip. Every direction feels otherworldly and dramatic, perfect for storytelling through photos. Plus, the lighting conditions change so rapidly that even the same spot can feel new every hour — a dream for a photographer chasing mood and atmosphere.
i would love to go to iceland, and photograph the amazing landscapes there! the endless midnight summer on film??? i would pass away
oh man yes yes yes! I need to go back!

I find it so hard to shoot, but Shane's work here made me think of giving it another try

Sadly, these days I think that holds true for many tourist destinations. However, respect and patience should always be considered regardless.
absolutely!

That would be so meaningful!

Love this! VERY good start
Nothing better than finding the flow again and be excited about new work. Great shorts and read!
thank you Leo!
I've recently read a short poem on Wales on a random IG story (later i discovered is a poem by Peter Finch):
"To live in Wales
is to love sheep
and to be afraid
of dragons"
Now i definitety want to visit Wales!
oh i just love that!

I literally just ate Thai food 10 minutes ago, I am in!

One of the most stunning places of all!
Cuba would be amazing to capture. Colorful streets, vintage cars, and the vibrant rhythm of daily life framed against colonial architecture.
and the food I hear is fantastic too

I hope I go there this year, it’s so enchanting
