Great advice that is applicable to many things. I've heard the same lessons about working out. Sure it would be nice to set aside an hour or two for the gym or to go for a run, but don't discount the value of taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or just doing a couple pushups in the morning to get the blood flowing.

Yep!! I totally make this a practice. It's not always a great thing to pack it all in, but I juggle as many creative moments interspersed with duties as often as possible! Just be sure to get some sleep!

SLEEP is everything, I still need to get better at this

Absolutely, and in the cold days of winter, it seems to happen more... FortunateIy I do subscribe to taking the small EDC or phone at all times and it's become habit take some pics at lunch or break.

This is so true . . . and applicable to art too.

Inspired to pack my portable/travel basic mixed media / collage art kit.

Not because i'm going away, but I have two school aged kids, and work from within our living space when they are at school. I have to constantly repack my 'studio' away (if I make the effort at all to get all the stuff out).

If I have my A4 zip around kit packed, what's to stop me making time for art in 5-10 min windows vs risk doing anything at all and allowing that momentum and creative habit to fade away ✨👀

Yesterday my oldest child turns 7 and in September my youngest starts school and slowly over this half a decade I've been carving out some time to myself to be creative. I think a lot of people get a bit sad when their children will go to school and I am sad but there is also a nice feeling about change moving forwards and having time to be creative

Many years ago the GF1 was my dream camera. I never bought it but got an LX3 instead - which was a kind of mini GF1 (with a zoom). I still occasionally look for one on MPB when I'm browsing and since I acquired a couple of M43 lenses a few months ago it's even more tempting.

I love the gf1, my first camera was a gh2 (I brought this 2010 camera in 2019) and then I wanted to do like Viola from pokemon, a two camera setup, a larger one (tiny because it's a 2010 MFT camera lol) and a tiny one (the gf1). I still need to work more on the lenses lol, want to use a larger focal length or/and a zoom on the gh2 with the gf1 with a wider lens, like the 14mm f2.5(that's pretty rare here in Brazil) or the 20mm f1.7(that I don't know if I'm going to love). But I don't do much photography because I'm a shut-in so it's hard to try and spend money on this type of thing when I know I will not use so much as I would wanted 😭

The first time I used I didn't like that much because of the preview not being live but now I don't care that much and just use the screen to compose in shutter priority (I normally used manual on the gh2) so I use more like a sunny 16 manual film camera lol

Perfect timing on this one. I spent all week lamenting this idea that I haven't been "all-in" with my photography practice this year.

I'm trying to focus now on one intentional image per day instead of the nebulous idea of doing the most I can. Sat down to write about this and read Process first. Always appreciate your insights.
