Hi Wesley! If I join one of the photo walks in Amsterdam, would it be possible to get more information surrounded the legality of photographing people on the streets and publishing for artistic purposes? Something I’ve been struggling with for a while, but would like other viewpoints.

Hi Audrey, this is a good guideline from a journalistic point of view that also goes for anyone else: https://www.anp.nl/blog/305/privacywetgeving-mag-je-filmen-op-de-openbare-weg

In a nutshell, it's legal to photograph people in a public space, but not always to publish it. In the end it's about being respectful of everyone and now showing people in a compromised position. I generally always ask people because for me part of the point is to have a conversation, not just to take the picture. Nearly everyone is absolutely happy to have their photo taken, and those who aren't are almost always polite about letting you know.

Thank you so much! I read the article and all the affiliated links. I always try and record people in a positive light and for editorial only. I also like conversation, so will consider handing out contact card whenever possible.

He Wesley,

Do you know in the basement of Stedelijk Museum there is an ongoing exhibition of Grafic Design. It inspires me always to see the design of De Stijl and so many others. I am educated with the grids of Peter Struycken and artists from Zero and Dada.

I love uor posts of the walks. Inspiring to arrange something lookalike when I am in de US, near Chicago in Weathon, Illinois. I announced a meet&greet in the library of Wheaton on my website. Do you use an app for the reservations for your walks? Maybe usefull for me too.

Hi Lucas, that was just a google maps screenshot on my part and I am not sure what Jeff used to go from there but I will do a full issue on his process and make sure to ask about it.
