One of my goals was to share more of my photography, both through instagram and Substack. Unfortunately, I haven’t come close to meeting this goal. But I am preparing for an international move, so trying to cut myself some slack. And I have been photographing, so I will have projects to share once things settle down. Although life has a tendency to never settle down, new obstacles are always popping up. I need to just set aside a day to write and post!

or perhaps, start smaller. It may be very hard to set aside a full day right now, but it might be alright to get up one hour earlier (or 30 min) and write just for that period, and do that a few times

I'm making slow and steady progress on my creative goals. It's a tough journey, but it's also really satisfying. One of the hardest things is shutting out all the unnecessary noise and distractions that keep me from getting stuff done. I know a lot of us deal with this, and we've got to work together to block out the distractions so we can focus on creating work that really matters.

I've been wanting to photograph the French Alps for a while now. With my granddad's minolta, which he took around the world in his time. The past week it finally happened. Of course I totally over romanticised what awesome photo's I would take, but it's still a nice sentimental moment.

That is a BEAUTIFUL thing to do! And I bet you will look back at the photos more fondly in the future too!

Hello everyone. In 2024 I decided to commit more to my photography in a meaningful way. Long story short, I have returned to film photography after several decades away due to work, life, and other pursuits that never filled my tank as much as photography. Having recognized that I decided to make my main goals: 1. to study photography at least an hour everyday 2. to take a picture everyday 3. to print at least 10 images per month 4. to have at least one image displayed in a public setting (a show). So far, I've been consistent with #1 but struggle with the others and have hit a mid-year slump. I think I need to find some ways to breathe life into my process so I'm looking forward to the Process Work Book. Carrying around a camera that is not my phone 24/7 helps as well. I hope to turn things around in the next month and get back on track. Cheers!

Thanks so much for sharing Vera! I appreciate it. And a mid-year slump is super common, so just keep pushing. I love your set of goals and the fact that you are consist with #1 tells me you will find momentum with the others as well.

My goals for the year have been to commit to doing professional work, posting more work, and doing more street portraits.

So far I've been progressing on the first two but haven't been doing the third - it's tough for me to stop strangers on the street! I have been putting more sharing more work with the world which has felt good. And I've been doing more paid work and trying to progress into making that a full time career which is a slow process that has required patience, but is moving in the right direction.

I had a few goals this year; the first was to take mentorship and see if I have options to pursue. so this one, although it seems too easy, is checked. The second was to gather photos for a zine, edit them, and choose from them. I'm in the second phase right now.

Another one was to be included at least in one exhibition this year, and I succeeded in this one too.

Although I struggle with the imposter syndrome a lot and doubt myself every single day, I have two more projects in mind, but they will be my goals for 2025.

At the moment I'm setting a timer when I'm on social media. When the timer goes off I can finish the article/post and then I stop. So far a 60% success rate. I'll see where I am at at the end of the month.

60% is better than my rate so I will try that!

Let me know how it goes? Could you let me know if you find other things that work? I need all the help I can get. Success. I really hope it helps.

Will the books be available for those who are not in the Process Photo Club?

Hi Klamo, yes they will be available to all, but members get a very big discount because their support helps me get it to print. The membership essentially pays for itself because of the discount. Hope you might join in the future :)
