I live next to the fjord in rural Norway and I’ve thought about wanting to start a project about these roadless farms that you can only access with boat! I would love to use 10 rolls of 120 Portra in my Bronica gs1 to document those farms! Why: because these farms are a trace of the past in Norway when the fjord was the main route and not the road!

A few weeks back I commented that I have been toying with the idea to make a photobook including poetry about 'mapping a childhood'. Since then I have decided that that's an idea I would actually like to pursue, starting with the photos.

For my studies I have to write a non-fiction and a fiction piece in order to graduate. I want to explore how a visual art practice (in my case photography) can support a writing practice.

I grew up in a place that has a lot of interesting scenes, including the beach, so to spend 10 rolls on that would be a treat.

I was planning on using my Minolta maxxum 7000.

Although reading about this Pentax does increase my curiosity towards half frame cameras. I like how you could be suprised by the in camera combinations, like a poetry form on its own.

Such exciting news about the Pentax 17. I have an Olympus Pen EE2 - my cousin's old camera - that I love shooting with too. Nice camera to use a daily diary sort of tool.

If I had these 10 rolls of film, I'd love to document life in Chinatown, NYC. I actually mentioned back in Process 086 that I wanted to make the move from Berlin (where I am now) to NYC. And it's finally happening this summer! Having not had a large Hong Konger/Chinese community here in Berlin, I'm looking forward to re-immersing myself in my culture there. Would love to document the stores, the street side stalls, the old men playing cards and mahjong, kids playing basketball, and so much more. With all of this, I'll use my trusty Leica M2, and back that up with my Hasselblad 503CX for some portraits.

Amazing post as always man, truly enjoyed today’s writing. And it’s finally here! didn’t expect it to be a half-frame but with all the post you’ve been doing lately, i finally understand the appeal of half-frame cameras. Can’t wait to try it out for sure.

I‘m working on a project currently and it happened kinda by accident. See I was drawn into fashion/editorial/portraits photography after realizing I’m not really good with street photography (yes im being hard on my own work). So I started taking portraits of my friends. Words got out, and I started taking pictures of their mutuals, then random people started to appeared in my DM.

We did a lot of different style of photoshoots, from simple portraits to more staged concept, and editorials style. I can see myself improving bit by bit and I’ve been enjoying my photography more than ever. One thing I realized is that, most of my models are students here in the Netherlands. Some were interested to apply for an MA and needed portfolio, but most of em don’t even wanna be a serious model. As a student myself, I relate to how they must’ve been feeling ya know, trying something that they know they have a potential on.

This sounds silly, but the ongoing project of mine is “a collection of photographs of university student who models on the side or just for fun”. I’m pretty sure I gotta find a better explanation for that. That doesn’t sound too interesting

I would take those 10 rolls on a very long trek along the entire island I come from, Iceland.

Its something I've always meant to do and documenting that journey on film has always been the intention. I have recently gone through all of my grandpa's old dia slides, which he dedicated solely to the Icelandic landscape. Barely a single photograph of my grandma in there :')

This would be a trip dedicated to him and his old Konica. I'd bring my Konica T3. Its heavy, but its an indestructible tank that I just don't get tired of using. Mine has a broken lightmeter, which somehow has become my favorite aspect of using that camera.

Document the disaPpearance of the Pisao village in Portugal. The residents have the move and the village will become flood because of the construction of a dam. I want to create a visual meomry of the place.

I Started with a first visit and def wanna continue with documenting this topic.

First off, super cool that there is a new camera - the Pentax looks like a blast!

As for the giveaway, it would be great to have 10 rolls of film to produce a body of work about this life I have made for myself on the Finnish coast. I am what is called a 'third culture kid' having grown up all over the world. After returning to Finland about 14 years ago to join the marines (mandatory military conscription), I have been trying to find my way back to my roots.

My family would spend every summer at our cabin no matter where in the world we lived and it has become an essential part of my childhood. As a father, I hope to provide a safe and stable upbringing for my kid and documenting our life on the coast has become a main focus over the last few months. Shooting on film makes this project more tangible and permanent whilst evoking that nostalgia that I yearn for.

Anyways thanks for the opportunity!

My ongoing, everlasting project that will probably see 10 rolls of film (and more) through my OM-1 is documenting the beauty in mundanity, how light falls in my everyday life: across dishes ready to be unloaded from the dishwasher, toys scattered across the floor, and gauzy curtains drifting in the breeze. Why? Because the beauty makes my photographer’s eye itch.

Hey Wesley! Loved reading this and what you had to say about diptychs and the art of them.

For the question, if I had 10 rolls of film, I’d continue the work that I am doing to tell the story of my grandparents-in-law. Being the only set of grandparents still alive between my wife and myself, they’re super special to us as they are “all the grandparents we have left.” I’ve been working on a project that documents them and their transition out of their lifelong home and into an assisted living facility. It’s hard, but beautiful to see them handling this well. I’ve been shooting it on a mix of cameras, but primarily on my RB67 and EOS 3. I’m looking to finish up most of the shooting (if that’s possible lol) and get to the post-production phase within the next few months.

Thanks again to you for writing 149 of these journals and to Ricoh for sponsoring this :)

Wow, exciting news 😃. I pre-ordered one so I would take 10 rolls and document the Centennial trail. It follows the Spokane River from Coeur de Alene, Idaho to north of Spokane through natural landscapes and into urban areas, sure to be some contrasts there. Whether I end up with the film or not, this summer I want to do some diptychs and some double exposure work. Cheers to a great video and article👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Portra 400 is my favorite film stock so I always tend to save it for special photo shoots or occasions. However, if I was given 10 rolls of Portra 400, I would likely use it to document my family. Especially with my 3rd child due this September. These last few months as a family of 4 would be a delight to document on Portra 400.

I just watched the launch video and can’t believe you already had your hands on one. The Pentax 17 looks like a lot of fun to use. Your pictures look great, but that was to expect 😏…

It seems the zone focussing worked out well. Could be tricky with the “bokeh”-mode or is there some extra aid?

Thanks Vincent! It's really not very hard, there's indicators for which distances fall in line with the zone focusing modes. Anyone can do it.

Going back to Japan this summer. It’s where i first got into film photography, and i haven’t been back since. I’ve learned a lot in these years and has grown as a photographer. This trip will bring me back to why i first started and to reflect on where am at. I plan to bring my Leica M6. One camera, one lens.

I'd like to begin the storytelling project of approaching strangers and asking for their portrait. I've successfully done this the last couple weeks in SF but would like to have more conversations if I can. Essentially I feel like the portraits could mean something to the subject but also to the viewer especially with a slight interview aspect. I want people to feel more connected and less alone. With themselves, with humanity. I would use my Nikon FA 35mm for this project and an old Nikkor 50mm lens that works like a charm.
