Glad the hard drive was backed up. Gear can always be replaced but my nightmare scenario is losing/having stolen HDDs with photos that have not been backed up and are therefore gone forever.
Sorry this happened Wesley but glad you and your gear made it through. I can imagine the stress and lingering effects continue long after the initial shock wears off.

Wow this is a sad story but I have the impression that you were lucky on a certain point! The camera bag, the coat, etc! This is like a personal violation and it must be hard ... hope you are good now.
Sorry to hear an about this - having your home and personal items (expensive or not) violated is a terrible ordeal and should be met with stiffer sentences. So glad they didn't get away with your equipment, but the time and worry is still there. And then - in your positive style, you turn it around and share tips on how to avoid it happening, very sound advice! Take Care-
