Dear friends,
In this week’s newsletter, the launch of my new photo book, NOTICE Journal, Volume One! After three years of shooting and nine months of production, it's finally here! I’m incredibly proud of this work and grateful to share it with you. Let’s get right to it.
What Is NJV1 About?
NOTICE Journal, Volume One (or NJV1) is the start of something new. An ongoing series of photo books each exploring its own individual sub-theme but tied together by the overarching concept of noticing—the small, often overlooked moments in life that carry so much meaning when we slow down to pay attention.
Volume One uses spring as a metaphor for rebirth and it’s a reflection on how photography can help us process life’s major changes. Shot entirely in Amsterdam on black-and-white film, the images document a period of transition in my life. I hope they’ll resonate with you as you move through your life with all the ups and downs.
The NOTICE Journal series will keep evolving, with each new volume bringing its own unique theme, but all the books will have the same dimensions and size. The covers, however, will change—different colors, different designs—so as time goes on, a beautiful little library can be built on your shelf, each book telling a distinct story while remaining part of a larger whole.
It's more than just a photo book—take a look at table of contents on the back cover.
Collaborators
In addition to my photos and words, NJV1 features a guest essay by one of my favorite writers, Caroline Cala Donofrio, and a special recipe created by New York Times food writer Hetty Lui McKinnon. Both pieces interpret the theme of my images: the nostalgia and hope of springtime. Also included is a beautifully illustrated map by Jeffrey Phillips, a wordmark by Jessica Hische, a cover design by Maxwell George, and of course book design by Dan Rubin. I’m lucky to call these talented people my friends and so grateful for their contributions.

My Message To You
Over the past months, I’ve shared a lot about the making of this book—breaking down each steps, the creative process, and the challenges, all to be transparent and demystify what goes into creating a photo book. I hope this has inspired you to take on your own projects. If you feel drawn to support this book, know that preordering directly helps keep this work alive and allows me to continue sharing these stories.
The Regular Edition is €40 (early bird price), but if you’re a Yearly Process Photo Club member, you get €20 off. Signing up for this paid tier of Process is what helps keep this newsletter and community accessible to everyone. And if you haven’t joined yet, this is a great moment to jump in. It’s also a way to connect more deeply with me and others who share a passion for photography.
NOTICE Journal Volume One is the beginning of what I hope will be a long series of books, each offering a fresh perspective on the world around us. This is the moment to jump on board and start building this collection with me. And as always, your support is what keeps this entire process going.
Thank you all for being part of this with me. Your enthusiasm for my work is what makes projects like this possible. I can’t wait to see these books in your hands and out in the world. Grab your copy here.
