Harman sent me a roll of their brand new experimental color film before anyone else had it. Instead of doing a normal review, I wrote a surrealist script and made a short film with my comedian friends. Here's the video, the behind the scenes story, and some wild portraits.
You got really interesting and vibrant results! I thought this film would look like Lomography’s Turquoise, but Harmon’s seems more saturated. Did you do a lot of post editing to get the colors so intense? - After experimenting with different film stocks for a few years, I find that I’m preferring the look of more traditional stocks for my photography. My favorite these days is Kodak Gold 200. There’s just something about the warmth of how it renders that really seems magical to me.
Not much editing, the colors came out like this for 120, I push the 35mm slightly towards a similar red for uniformity because it had a slightly different tone. Love Gold 200!
My current fave film stock is surprisingly Fuji 400! Im obsessed with how it renders colors, especially with flash. I really love the green tones in the shadows!
These came out great, but am I the only not loving the look of Azure? Not for the lack of trying though! If isn't vibing with me as much as say, Harman RED. Idk, jury's still out though
Fantastic shots! I can’t wait to try Azure. Actually I like a lot the old Phoenix version and I keep a few rolls in the fridge for when it’s gone. Another current favorite is Orwo Wolfen NC500, very moody, makes reds pop and adds a patina of nostalgia I just love.
Mostly shooting on Fuji 400h pro these days. Hunting for it and shooting on different expiration dates, testing and playing with different exposure times on the Bronica GS-1. Shooting a lot of nature related images, love how the colors turn out in the different seasons. Great question, keep it up!
So cool and weird! I've been loving Ilford SFX lately. had never heard of it until recently. I think working with and modifying b&w tones are the most fun to play with. Near-infra film makes goth people even more goth.
I like it. Not an everyday thing of course, but to experiment and for certain applications it's a kick in the butt. I have used the Lomochrome purple, especially in summer, and it rocks too. Currently though, Portra 400 brings some warmth and added speed to the dark days of winter!
Love the look of Harman Azure! And the Home Alone story really made me laugh!
Lately I’ve been enjoying Flic Film Aurora 800 colour film. I’ve been using it in my Lomography Sprocket Rocket. I’ve gotten some lovely panoramic images with it, particularly on a trip my wife and I did to Banff and Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada.
Cheers and thanks for sharing results of this fun new film!
As the Harman Switch Azure I really enjoy the creativity of the Lomochrome Turquoise ! It could be used from100 to 400 ISO. The result is always amazing :

I am quite traditional in that sense and use mostly black and white film when I shoot in 35 mm, normally Agfa APX 400 or Ilford 50
ooh I never hear someone bring up Ilford 50, I adore that stock!
Quite an amusing video, and I love the unpredictability of the film. I am inspired! The old SLR is now out and ready for action.
Thanks for watching and reading Marlene!

not surprising! great stock!
I'm a Cinestill 400D and an Ilford HP5 400 guy.

I definitely don’t think it’s a film for everyone, but I enjoyed it more than the red personally. I’ve shot both!
