the most exciting thing I've build since starting this newsletter
Dear friends,
In this week's letter, the most exciting thing I’ve ever done with Process: the launch of the Process Photo Club. You are all invited. <3
Launching the Process Photo Club
Dear friends,
I am so excited to tell you about this new evolution of Process. I’ve been working towards it for about a year and it’s finally ready for you! A brand new offering.
If you enjoy what I’ve been doing with Process these past 150 issues, and want to see more, please consider becoming a founding member of the Process Photo Club. Let me tell you why I think you’re gonna love it.
First, a little context.
For a while now, I’ve been feeling the pull to make a significant change in my career. To push harder, be bolder, and make more work I believe needs to exist in the world.
Writing this newsletter is incredibly fulfilling. Knowing that the Process community has my back has motivated me in my work and given me a deeper purpose.
It has inspired me to document my process more mindfully and share it with you. It has helped me be more honest and vulnerable, sharing lessons learned and mistakes made. It’s a beautiful cycle of inspiration and support.
I started Process four years ago now and there is so much more I want to do. More long-form projects, more books, more communities to document, more screenings, more photo walks, and more Process. I want to take you along for all of it.
Each issue of Process represents countless hours of work, from the writing to the research, documenting, designing, and more. It’s the hardest I’ve ever worked and it brings me immense fulfillment to realize that this is what I truly want to do.
More than client work, more than making work for the general market, I want to create photo books and impactful stories for and with this community, including ones that can go far beyond and reach many more people.
The Output, The Work
In the next twelve months, my goal is to produce (at a minimum) the following:
NOTICE Journal, Volume One — My next photo book featuring the work I’m most proud of. Beautifully printed by the world’s best. (Coming: late summer/early fall)
The Process Work Book, Volume One — Assignments and challenges to help you become a more fulfilled photographer. (Coming: summer)
An Exhibition of my work — I am working on a big opportunity and will take you behind the scenes for the whole thing through various issues of Process and a longform lessons-learned essay. (Coming: winter)
Two Long-Form Photography Projects — I am currently working on Creatives In/AMS, featuring short photo essays about 52 different creative people in Amsterdam, and The Best Medicine, about the power of comedy to bring joy and healing. Both will be published on beautiful dedicated websites. (Coming: winter)
Process Workshops — I am currently preparing my first offline in-person workshop and my first online one. I cannot wait to tell you more. (Coming: fall)
And of course,
Process — This weekly newsletter, 44 issues a year, will remain accessible for all, not just members.
Process Projected — 14 exhibitions a year, showcasing the work of wonderful photographers from all over the world, often their first exhibition.
If this sounds like an insane amount of work, that’s because it is! It represents a more-than-full-time job, but I love it and feel so lucky to be doing this work. Countless photographs, over 100,000 words written, books and projects published.
By becoming a member of the Process Photo Club you will have a big part in helping me make it all happen. I have been preparing for this moment for over a year, it’s going to be amazing, and I would love for you to join me.
How does the Process Photo Club work?
It’s easy. You can sign up as a Monthly Member, a Yearly Member, or a Lifetime Member.
Signing up as a Yearly Member is cheaper per month and comes with more perks. The perks are explained below.
By becoming a member of the Process Photo Club, you’re essentially telling me that you want to see more of my work published into the world. That includes Process, but also my books, projects, and workshops.
What You Get When You Join — Perks!
I think of your support as a vote of confidence and a pre-order for some amazing projects that will be yours to enjoy including new books, workshops, and more.
Yearly Members receive huge discounts on my books because your contribution goes towards making the work possible.
More perks will be developed, and for now, we will start with:
Monthly Members — €9/m
Process Workbook Volume One, a digital (PDF) zine with 30 different photography assignments and practical challenges to become a more fulfilled photographer while having fun. (August)
Digital copies (PDF) of my out-of-print books What We Think We Know About Love and The Making of NOTICE Zine (July)
Early and preferred access for all public Process events, including screenings and photo walks. (All year round)
Yearly Members — €90/y (€7.50/m, a 17% saving)
All monthly perks

Note: The goal is to help you earn back your entire yearly subscription fee through these discounts within a year.
One of the next yearly perks I am working on is a library of custom Process templates for making digital contact sheets, pitching press, pricing, roll notes, and more.
Lifetime Members — €1.000
All of the above.
One annual portfolio review (in-person or online), for yourself or to gift.
Eternal gratitude.
You will be thanked by name in all future books as someone who “made this book possible”.
A big hug when I see you. Like every time I see you. Unless you don’t like hugs.
Taking The Leap
So there we are! One year in the making, my most ambitious Process project is finally here. I am beyond excited to make all this work and bring it to you.
Consider yourself very much invited to the Process Photo Club. I hope you join me by clicking the button below. <3
With the help of the Process Photo Club, I will be able to dedicate more time to Process, photo book making, long-term projects, and documenting every step of the way so you can do it too. This is my proposition to you.
I am secretly already dreaming up Process Photo Club stickers and building this into something even more supportive and special, by leaning into curiosity and generosity.
And a reminder, that no matter what, the Process newsletter will continue to be published every Sunday and remain free to all, members and non-members alike.
Next Week: The analog body of work I made in Finland during my artist residency revealed! More book news! First Process Workshop clues!
We should probably come up with a secret Process Photo Club handshake. Open to suggestions!
Keep shooting and take good care of yourselves and others. <3

Housekeeping
In case you missed it, the video Luc and I made for the launch of the Pentax 17 was incredibly well-received and watched. Here are some comments:
"This is the best review of the Pentax 17 without focusing on the camera itself."
"Great video! Finally someone focusing on the creative possibilities with this camera."
"Best shots from this new camera I've seen thus far!”
Watch it here.
